Om Simon Dobnik

I am Senior Lecturer and Docent (=Associate Professor) in Computational Linguistics at the Department of Philosophy, Linguistics and Theory of Science at University of Gothenburg, Sweden. I am a member of the Centre for Language Technology (CLT) and the Centre for Linguistic Theory and Studies in Probability (CLASP), both at University of Gothenburg.

My research interests include spatial cognition, computational models of language and perception, human-robot interaction, situated spoken dialogue systems, and computational representations of meaning (semantics).

Phd students

Mehdi Ghanimifard: representation learning for language and perception

Wafia Adouane: learning from highly variable and under-resources domain (Algerian social media)

Kathrein Abu Kwaik (Chatrine Qwaider): resources and models for Arabic dialects (second supervisor)
