About Per-Erik Milam

I'm a researcher at the University of Gothenburg. I'm currently working on a project called called "The Limits of Forgiveness" which is funded by the Swedish Research Council.

Prior to this, I was an assistant professor of ethics and political philosophy at the University of Twente, a postdoctoral fellow with the Gothenburg Responsibility Project, and a visiting assistant professor at Oakland University. I received my PhD in philosophy from the University of California, San Diego in 2014, where my supervisor was Dana Nelkin.

I study free will, agency, and moral responsibility. I’m particularly interested in practices like blame, apology, and forgiveness that we use to address and resolve moral conflicts.
